March Madness betting players are getting ready for the conference tournaments as the regular season is wrapping up, and here is a look at three teams who could offer some good value when the Big Dance tips off on March 15th.
North Carolina
The Tar Heels are an interesting team because their odds have been up and down all season, opening as favorites, then they stumbled through the non-conference portion of the slate before closing strong. The Tar Heels have talent in freshmen Harrison Barnes and Kendall Marshall, but their odds depend on the inside duo of Tyler Zeller and John Henson, who give North Carolina some great numbers in the post.
Florida
The Gators may be a darkhorse despite rolling through the SEC, and they have a group of starters which have played together for two years, which has to help in the era of the “one-and-done” player. The guard duo of Erving Walker and Kenny Boynton can get really hot shooting the basketball, while Chandler Parsons is one of those players that does it all, and he’ll come in handy when the Tournament starts.
Kentucky
Another team that could emerge from the SEC is a young Kentucky squad led by freshmen Brandon Knight, Terrence Jones and Doron Lamb. But their key is junior Darius Miller, who has the experience that those three lack, and that inexperience has really bit the Wildcats on the road. The freshmen are going to have to follow Miller’s lead, not the other way around, if they want to pull out a sports betting upset and win it all in Houston.
